Terms of use of the Agency’s Twitter Account

The Agency's Twitter account is managed by the Communications Branch. Tweets mainly have to do with:

  • Agency announcements and events
  • Articles or newsworthy items on regional economic development
  • Studies and research on regional economic development
  • Agency job offers open to the public
  • News on Agency clients or partners (e.g. CFDC events)
  • Agency Web site updates
  • Agency updates on other social networks

Followers

The Agency is not responsible for information relating to the followers of its Twitter account, nor does it endorse their tweets, sites or content. Following the Agency on Twitter does not mean the Agency will follow you back. The Agency reserves the right to block any account posting inappropriate content.

Subscription

The Agency's subscription to Twitter accounts in no way implies the its endorsement of the publications on these accounts. The Agency reserves the right to unsubscribe from any account posting inappropriate content.

Availability

As a general rule, the Agency monitors and updates its Twitter account during regular office hours (Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., ET). The Agency is not responsible for offering this service outside of the stipulated hours.

Replies to requests, questions and comments

The Agency welcomes requests, questions and comments but cannot commit to responding to all @replies and private messages. Details on contacting the Agency can be found on the Contact us page.

Tweeting and retweeting

We are interested in feedback from our Twitter page users and respect their right to freedom of expression. The following conditions of use are intended to maintain a respectful and constructive dialogue.

We will attentively read @DevEconCan tweets containing:

  • questions, comments, suggestions and information

We will disregard @DevEconCan tweets containing:

  • racist, defamatory or libellous comments
  • threats, obscenity or vulgarity
  • spam or advertising
  • private information pertaining to another person
  • copyrighted material belonging to another person
  • links to inappropriate Web sites

Such tweets will be ignored; their authors may be reported to Twitter or, where applicable, legal action may be taken.

User feedback on inappropriate tweets

You may reply to a comment with which you disagree. However, if you feel someone has violated the Twitter conditions of use, you may report the matter to Twitter .

Privacy protection

To protect your own privacy as well as that of others, we recommend that you avoid using telephone numbers or e-mail addresses in your tweets.
