Community Diversification: Île-de-Montréal

The Community Diversification program helps Quebec regions maintain and develop their economic activity base. Administered by the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, this program is in effect from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2012. One of the program components— Attractive communities—applies to the Île-de-Montréal region.
Building on an attractive community or town means forging and preserving a community where it is good to live and work, and that is pleasant to discover, visit and come back to.
Increasing communities’ drawing power means designing, developing and carrying out projects that contribute to:
- development and commercialization of the tourism offering
- increasing the number of tourists from outside Quebec
- maintaining a skilled workforce.
