Three-wheeled fun
Who said thrill-seekers prefer
European sports cars? Certainly not Campagna Motors execs, whose
motto is: “Fun – Style – Performance”!
Let it be known to anyone who harbours a secret desire to drive a Formula 1 car: Campagna Motors is offering speed lovers its brand new T-REXTM muscle trike.
After causing quite a sensation with their new star model in Las Vegas last December, David Neault and André Morissette, respectively Associate Vice-President and President of Campagna Motors, are firing on all cylinders!
T-REX in pole position!
“We know we offer luxury products that are far from essential to everyday life. Nevertheless, the demand is there. While the automotive industry shrank, our sales remained stable.”
This young Montréal South Shore SME is on the fast track. In 2008, the firm acquired the T-REX brand from a company in bankruptcy and gave it a second life. Focusing their commercialization efforts primarily on the United States, Neault and Morissette are working hard at promoting their luxury products. As André Morissette noted, “We know we offer luxury products that are far from essential to everyday life. Nevertheless, the demand is there. While the automotive industry shrank, our sales remained stable.”
The company currently manufactures
two T-REX models, a classic model and a sports model, as well as
the V13R roadster that took five years of R-D and will be
officially launched in spring 2011.
The assembly line for the three vehicles has 18 stations; more than 3,000 parts go into the making of a single vehicle; hundreds of hours are required for assembly; the chassis are built in-house and the other components come from various sub-contractors for a Canadian content level of 80 percent. And for stats buffs: a T-REX sells for between $54,000 and $60,000, weighs less than 500 kg and is powered by a 197-horsepower Kawasaki engine.
Exports at full throttle
Campagna Motors currently exports 75 percent of its production. The project Canada Economic Development is supporting will help the company commercialize its vehicles in Europe and Asia while pursuing its business activities in the United States. In addition to creating some 10 jobs, deployment of the commercialization strategy should have a positive impact on sales while consolidating 20 direct jobs and some 100 jobs with sub-contractors. Campagna Motors vehicles stand apart from the competition for their unique, innovative design, superior performance, precise handling and fine hand crafting.
What about safety? The
entrepreneurs take nothing lightly, least of all the safety of
those at the wheel of their dream machines. Their vehicles all meet
Transport Canada safety standards. In point of fact, the T-REX was
the forerunner of the three-wheeled vehicle in Canada. So
enthusiasts can safely let their passion run free!
