Outaouais Business Contact - A day devoted to networking and sharing strategic information

Business prospects and strategies at the dawn of an economic recovery was the theme of the most recent Business Contact event held this past March 18th in Maniwaki. No fewer than 176 leaders of enterprise and economic organizations from across the Outaouais region turned out to take part in activities and events designed to help them in their entrepreneurial undertakings. The Minister of State Denis Lebel met with participants, accompanied by his colleague, Minister Lawrence Cannon.

Throughout the day, 40 guest speakers and expert consultants from a variety of federal departments and agencies, universities and the private sector were on hand to provide information and guidance to entrepreneurs on how to turn their business projects into growth opportunities.

Participants were also able to sit in on conferences dealing with topics of direct interest to the region’s economy, including the future of the forest sector, market development in the tourism and agri-food industries and human resource management.

Expressly designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Business Contact offers solutions to the regional issues and problems entrepreneurs are facing—solutions that may have a determining impact on the growth of their businesses.

Spearheaded by Canada Economic Development, Outaouais Business Contact was organized in collaboration with the Société d’aide au développement des collectivités ( SADC) Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, the Community Futures Development Corporation serving the area.
