A new program: Regional Development Study

Two manufacturing sector employeesYou are an expert in the fields of research and regional economic development in the Quebec regions? With the Regional Development Study program, you have an opportunity to influence the economic development of your region.

The aim of this program is to generate and disseminate knowledge that strengthens the capacity of economic development stakeholders to take informed action to influence the development of their regions.

This first call for proposals is seeking study projects on transformations in the manufacturing sector and carries an overall maximum budget allocation of $350,000. Given these budget limitations, only a small number of projects can be selected for funding (likely six or fewer). The call for proposals was open from October 5 to November 17, 2009.*

Submitters are therefore asked to demonstrate, among other things, how their study project will generate knowledge:

  • on one or more of the themes and research topics identified in the call for proposals;
  • that is concrete, useful and can be easily applied by economic development stakeholders;
  • that is groundbreaking or little covered in existing literature.
* Please note that the call for proposals on transformations in the manufacturing sector closed November 17, 2009. For further information, see the Regional Development Study program.
