High value-added wood
Wood has always been one of those timeless materials, but thanks to the ingenuity and creativity of today’s designers, it seems to be finding its way back into our interior decors more than ever before. Les Entreprises Bizier Inc., located in the small town of La Pêche in the Outaouais region, is one such firm specializing in the design, manufacture and sale of decorative wood products.
Diversifying its production
“After more than a year of research and development, we were ready to acquire the equipment we needed to introduce new products to the market,”
explained Marc Bizier, the company’s president. “We wanted to be able to offer our customers new and innovative high-quality products like laminated hardwood countertops and patterned motifs in different sizes that could be inlaid into flooring.”
“While our intention was to break into new markets and pursue our expansion, the project also enabled us to reduce our order turnaround time.”
Canada Economic Development was there to help Les Entreprises Bizier with its acquisition of new equipment, a project that helped maintain 10 jobs within the company. “While our intention was to break into new markets and pursue our expansion, the project also enabled us to reduce our order turnaround time,”
he added.
The secondary and tertiary processing of wood is considered a growth-generating sector for the Outaouais, along with high technology, tourism and agri-food. The kind of production Les Entreprises Bizier Inc. engages in earns it a prime spot in the region’s value-added manufacturing sector and allows it to satisfy demand well beyond local and regional borders.
