Chaudière-Appalaches

Through the Québec – Chaudière-Appalaches Business Office, the Agency encourages the development of Chaudière-Appalaches business communities by assisting the region’s SMEs with their projects directly. We also assist economic development stakeholders and the economic organizations that support these SMEs.

Regional priorities

For the City of Lévis, which is part of the Quebec Metropolitan Community, the Agency gives priority to projects that foster the development of the following sectors:

  • Life sciences, health and nutrition (human health and medical equipment, agrotechnologies and agrifood)
  • Applied technologies (optics-photonics, computer-based solutions and computer technologies, security and defense, Green Building)

In the remainder of the Chaudière-Appalaches region, the Agency gives priority to projects that foster the development of the following sectors:

  • Agrifood
  • Materials processing (secondary wood processing, metal products, composite materials, plastics)

Preference is given to the following types of interventions:

  • Productivity support
  • Innovation support
  • Export support

The Centres d'Aide aux Entreprises (CAE) play a role in the economic development of the regions they serve by providing SMEs with financial assistance and consulting services to stimulate the creation and maintenance of jobs.

Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) of NRCLien externe
Supports SMEs in approving and developing new products or procedures. Financial assistance is awarded after the project has been assessed by an industrial technology advisor.
