Montérégie Business Office
The Agency encourages the development of Montérégie business communities by assisting the region’s SMEs with their projects directly. We also assist economic development stakeholders and the economic organizations that support these SMEs.
Regional priorities
In the Montérégie region, particularly in the Lajemmerais, Longueuil, Roussillon, Vallée-du-Richelieu and Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCMs, the Agency gives priority to projects that foster the development of the following sectors:
- Bio-food
- Energy
- Advanced materials
- Transportation equipment (aerospace)
- Information and communications technologies
- Life sciences
In addition to the sectors mentioned above, the Agency also gives priority to projects that foster the development of the following sectors in the Acton, Bas-Richelieu, Beauharnois-Salaberry, Brome-Missisquoi, Haute-Yamaska, Haut-Richelieu, Haut-St-Laurent, Jardins-de-Napierville, Maskoutains and Rouville RCMs:
- Chemistry, plastic and rubber
- Environment
- Metals and machine
- Micro-electronic
- Paper, furniture and wood products
- Tourism

- Offers information services to businesses from all sectors and at every stage of development. Provides access to information on federal and provincial departments as well as to integrated information products and interactive tools.
- Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs)
- CFDCs contribute to the economic development of their communities by providing services to enterprises: access to funding, technical assistance and support for local, youth and female entrepreneurship.

- Supports SMEs in approving and developing new products or procedures. Financial assistance is awarded after the project has been assessed by an industrial technology advisor.
- Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole
- Offers technical support to set up technological and industry infrastructure projects and consulting and strategic watch services; organizes international conferences and exhibitions and investor missions.
- Cintech agroalimentaire
- Offers specialized services in applied research, development, transfer and testing and supports the marketing of innovative technology and applications in the agri-food sector.
- Développement économique Longueuil (DEL)
- Provides customized support to businesses in order to help facilitate and accelerate their startup, expansion, relocation, export and innovation projects and assist those seeking to improve their competitiveness, increase their productivity, protect their technological innovations, enrich their research, find financing solutions and recruit skilled labour.
