Mauricie Business Office

The Agency encourages the development of Mauricie business communities by assisting the region’s SMEs with their projects directly. We also assist economic development stakeholders and the economic organizations that support these SMEs.

Regional priorities

In the Mauricie region, the Agency gives priority to projects that foster the development of the following sectors:

  • Forest products (secondary and tertiary wood processing)

Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs)
CFDCs contribute to the economic development of their communities by providing services to enterprises: access to funding, technical assistance and support for local, youth and female entrepreneurship.

Community Economic Development Corporations (CEDCs) (french)
CEDCs focus on the economic and social revitalization of the most disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods by stimulating the startup of small businesses in their areas.

Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) of NRC
Supports SMEs in approving and developing new products or procedures. Financial assistance is awarded after the project has been assessed by an industrial technology advisor.
Technopole Vallée du Saint Maurice (french)
Support for the creation or expansion of new economy enterprises, particularly in the region's most productive areas: pulp and paper technologies and the energy and environment sectors. Services offered are incubation-counselling, technical assistance and networking with scientific experts.
Carrefour Québec International (french)
Centre-du-Québec International is active throughout Central Quebec supporting companies with their exporting operations.
Fonds de développement économique LaPrade (FDE LaPrade) (french)
Offers individual coaching services to SMEs in order to guide them in the shift to electronic commerce and inform them of resources available. Training and e-commerce watch activities.
